WHY they must make the “server edition” more expensive and force you to buy “Snow leopard server”. I am a real Mac Mini fan, and i also use a old G4 one for video generation. It would be ideal for cheap playout server

The fact is you can’t legally (or easily) run Mac OS natively on any hardware not sold through Apple, so you pay a premium for the ability to use Mac OS as well as being able to use Windows, Linux and the like via BootCamp. Mac OS is a requirement for many industries such as fashion, design, application programming.. Apple knows this and they charge for it accordingly.
Not saying it’s right but there is a reason Mac is expensive.

Cause seriously though theres a point were an OS isnt worth it. ($200 for an upgrade to Windows ultimate for example)

No, the idea of the Mac Mini is that you already have a keyboard mouse and monitor. It’s really meant as a cheap(er) way for Windows people to get Mac OS. They fucking upped the price though with this new one, which is retarded.
My company might be buying me one so this is a pretty good refresh for me.
